Program Description

The Post-Doctoral Residency & Fellowship program allows doctoral level clinicians the opportunity to earn their clinical hours towards licensure as a licensed psychologist as per requirements of Florida Department of Health.

 

This program also allows for the development of specialties in working with children and adolescence, geriatrics, and with conducting psychological evaluations.  In addition to providing clinical services in the form of individual, family, couple, and group therapy, the Clinician can choose a specialty group to maximize their proficiency in working with that group. 

 

The Clinician also has the opportunity to become proficient with conducting a variety of psychological evaluations and can achieve specialty title in neuro-psychology and forensic psychology with additional training and certification. 

 

Depending on comfort level the Resident and Fellow can assist practicum students and interns with some of their clinical needs through peer supervision.  The Clinician will develop competence in documentation to include progress notes and treatment plans.

 

All clinicians receive supervision as required by Florida Department of Health.

 

All clinicians receive payments for services rendered.

 

Qualifications:

Interns must have a Doctorate (Psy.D., Ph.D., or Ed.S.) degree in

 

  • Clinical Psychology
  • Forensic Psychology
  • Neuro-Psychology
  • Child Psychology
  • School Psychology

 

Residents & Fellows must meet all requirements of the Florida Department of Health, register, and acquire a provisional license.

 

Resident & Fellow Commitment:

20 to 40 hours per week depending if full-time or part-time.

 

This includes direct clinical service hours (60%), clinical supervision(15%), documentation (20%), training and research (5%)..
