Dr. Yahaira Almedina

JesseniaDr. Almedina has been working in the mental health field in Puerto Rico and Florida since acquiring her Master’s Degree in the field in 2012 Previous experience included children and adolescents diagnosed with Depression, Anxiety, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Adjustment Disorder, Learning Disorders and Trauma. In addition, Dr. Almedina has collaborated with agencies that serve low-income families and multicultural population of South Florida. At JNG Health Network, Dr. Almedina is being referred to as the child and adolescent expert due to her outstanding quality in providing comprehensive mental health therapy to this population. Dr. Almedina also aspires to become more proficient in conducting in-depth psychological evaluations to children and adolescence.

Certification & Special Training:   Dr. Almedina has been certified and/or trained in several therapy modalities such as: Unified Protocol for Transdiagnostic Treatment of Emotional Disorders in Adolescents, EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Prolonged Exposure Therapy.
